Q & A with Kristin
Q: Why did you start this blog? Does the internet really need another blog?
A: I started this blog to document the successes and inevitable failures my family will achieve trying to live a more self-sufficient lifestyle. At the very least, it will serve as a personal digital scrapbook of our lives that I will be able to share with my children in the future. At most, hopefully, others will find some amount of joy reading my musings. I can’t say the internet NEEDS more blogs, but there is no harm in sharing my passion with like-minded folks or bringing self-sufficient living to those who could benefit from it. Everyone could use a dose or two of good old-fashioned ways.
Q: What kind of things can I expect to read on this blog?
A: You will probably find borderline sarcastic ramblings regarding cooking from scratch, gardening, chicken keeping, homeschooling and other homesteading type of topics. Stay tuned, who knows what I will come up with! Disclaimer: I am not an expert in any of these topics. I am still relatively new in my journey, but what I lack in experience I make up for in curiosity and enthusiasm. Join me and we can learn and grow together!
Q: Who is asking these questions anyways?
A: That would be me. I ask the questions and I answer them. Sometimes I talk to myself, so what?! Don’t you?
Q: Who the heck are you?!
A: I’m Kristin.
….oh, you want more?
I’m a wife, a mother to three adorable children and a wannabe homesteader learning self-sufficient skills right where I am at-a shy 1 acre budding homestead just outside a small prairie town in the beautiful PNW. Don’t believe me? Here, check it out!
I use terms like “the mountain is out” and “hey you, stop peeing on my flowers!” quite frequently. I like to work in my garden with three small humans at my feet asking for a snack and drink of water every 5 minutes, duking it out over who gets to water the cabbages today and yes, peeing on my flowers. What, that doesn’t sound relaxing to you?
I’m a daughter, a sister, a friend and a goofball. Welcome to my blog.
